Cove Methodist Church

There has been a church on this area of land dating back to 1867, but the current church has been open since 1984. Fundraising at the church started in 1987 and since then we have commited ourselves to a number of events and social gatherings such as concerts, quiz nights, christmas tree festivals and more. Our church also offers services for weddings, christenings and funerals. There are regular events and activities at the church. Please explore our website to see what is coming up or for some general information.

Hire of the church hall and rooms

Our church offers you the service of hiring our hall and facilities for your own special events. Whether it is a  children's birthday party or a regular social meet up, we have what you need. In the past people have used the hall for birthday parties and managed to fit in a bouncy castle! All have given us positive feedback! Regular social clubs such as choirs, bands and Brownies also use our facilities.

If you are interested in hiring the church hall please go to our contact page and email your question/query.

A New Decade: Welcome 2020

When the carols have been stilled,
When the star-topped tree is taken down,
When family and friends are gone home,
When we are back to our schedules
The work of Christmas begins:
   To welcome the refugee,
   To heal a broken planet,
   To feed the hungry,
To build bridges of trust, not walls of fear,
   To share our gifts,
To seek justice and peace for all people,
To bring Christ’s light to the world.

- by Michael Dougherty, a variation on Howard Thurman’s ‘When the Song of the Angels is Stilled’
