Church Walks

This page only concerns events that occur on a regular basis.

If you would like to know what is coming up in the future months but it not a regular event then please visit our COMING UP page and see if there is anything you might be interested in.

The 'John Drabble' Church Walks take place regularly on Saturday's.

At Cove Methodist Church we take part in a church walk every third Saturday of the month execpt December. The walks are arranged by members of the church but all are welcome to take part and see the beauty of the surrounding area. This is a long standing tradition and the walks are held in a different area every month. It is a great way to meet new people and see what beauty Farnborough and the surrounding area has to offer.

Tea and coffee is supplied after every walk.

If anyone needs travel we have members of the walk who are willing to drive people so everyone has the chance to take part.

To see pictures taken on our church walks, click on the gallery button to the right.

Anybody interested in a stroll of about 3 miles is welcome to come.

Dogs are accepted as long as they are kept under control (with livestock in  mind.)

You do not need to be connected with Cove Methodist Church.

Free tea, coffee please and biscuits are provided afterwards.

If you are interested in taking part in the next church walk please let the walk leader (T Hocking) Know at church or use our contact us page. Please let us know if you are meeting us at the walk starting point or at the church.

Octobers Walk Report

On a surprisingly warm and sunny October afternoon we embarked on a lovely walk through Elvetham Estate in Church Crookham. Although numbers are on the low side it was great seeing some old but new faces and children on the walk. The route we took led us through fields of growing crops and in the path of Elvetham Hall and church, which allowed us to capture some amazing photos (can be seen on our gallery page). Although not much wildlife was to be seen, there was a few buzzards and a suspected pheasant. Tony explained that they no longer breed game animals, hence the lack of wildlife. After a rather lovely walk we got back to the cars and enjoyed a lovely cup of tea or coffee with some homemade flapjacks, cookies and cakes. A good Saturday afternoon well spent.
